The Indonesians Youth for a United World have begun to meet since the beginning of March, “sometimes I felt like giving up – says Ika – but when I was about to give in, the unity among us supported me and we encouraged each other. Sometimes there were very different opinions. Yet,

I have experienced how important losing the idea for the love of the others. ” Randi continues: “Although there were so many commitments and difficulties we have embarked into this adventure. To cover the expenses of the event, for example, we have even sung in some restaurants. “

The day of the concert, in an atmosphere full of joy and enthusiasm, five artists took turns on stage: a choir of a Catholic university and four singers. “Thanks to the preparation of this event – said Novita – I rediscovered the richness of diversity: diversity of ideas, religious diversity … but all united by the desire to witness that a united world is possible.”

To 350 young people from all over the country a challenge was launched: concretely commited to building the peace. Here are some of the reflections left by the participants: to put in practice peace in everyday life, starting at home with my family; appreciate differences and love each other; help ourselves despite our differences; Peace begins starting from your environment …

Thanks to this event about 600 Euros were collected (the equivalent of four months’ salary).

A few days later, we are gathered again in a city park to greet one of the youth, who would leave for Gen School in Tagaytay “next to us there was a family who spoke Arabic. Initially – says Erick – we tried to play with the children to create a welcoming atmosphere. But our attempt has not been very successful. Respecting their will, we tried not to be invasive. During snack time, though, we invited the whole family and it was nice to be a bit with them. Eventually, the tension has melted and we spent much time together, we sang and had fun as one big family. “
