What is the United World Community?

The UWC is a global network of over 5,000 individuals, groups and organisations in different countries and continents, creating spaces for learning, collaboration and action. By bringing together different cultures, beliefs and generations, our goal is to contribute to building a more united and fraternal world, generating concrete change starting from local realities.

How to participate:

  • Join the international network
  • Share your existing initiatives
  • Check whether your actions are aligned with one of the UWC’s eight focus areas
  • Register your group on the official UWC form and share your experiences
  • Participate in global events, workshops and United World Week to increase visibility
  • Connect with other communities and expand the impact of your actions
  • Take advantage of resources such as training and mentoring to strengthen local results

Create a local Community

  • Find your community: choose one of the eight areas that best reflects your passions, skills and dreams
  • Get the people around you involved: every community starts with at least two people! Invite those who, like you, want to transform their local area — of all ages and backgrounds
  • Appoint one or more Community Tutors: every group needs at least one person to accompany, support and encourage the Community on its journey
  • Make your Community official: fill in the registration form, share your idea and tell us a little about your group. This will officially add your Community to the UWC network!
  • #MakeaVisibleChange: use the 6×1 method to get started: learn together, plan activities and make a difference with concrete initiatives that generate real impact in your area

What is the expected impact?

The expected impact includes the personal, spiritual and social development of network members, translated into concrete actions: fundraising campaigns, conferences, political initiatives and educational projects. The results will depend on the local context, but will contribute to real transformation in society.

How does the Community work?

Through the 6×1 methodology, participants learn to observe their environment, identify problems, engage stakeholders, plan, implement and evaluate projects with local impact and global vision.

Stages of the 6×1 method:

•    Observe

•    Choose

•    Engage

•    Plan and act

•    Evaluate

•    Celebrate
