The Spiritual Condominium Uirapuru – CEU was founded in 2000 thanks to the donation of the Uirapuru Farm by Craveiro Macêdo family. In 2007 it was recognized as an Institutional Area by the City Council: it aims at bringing together non-profit organisations whose activity is grounded in Christian moral principles. Howeverover the years CEU has begun to acquire an nterreligious dimension.

Main activities:

• Meet people who experience some kind of social disadvantage such as drug addiction
• Accomodation for children and youth at risk; adults and children with HIV
• Initiatives that promote participation, educational and cultural activities; counselling and spiritual events
• Reception of young girls victims of sexual abuse or exploitation
• Integration of ex-offenders, monitoring of them and their families

Currently under construction is a hospital dedicated to the correction of facial deformities for people in need. Over the years, CEU has been transformed into a social project with unique features, that brings together volunteers, employees and assisted people who live within the compound.
