UNITED WORLD WEEK 2016 – BRAZIL

Success actions are everywhere … From north to south, from east to west, in the capital and in the countryside, in the cities who have Focolare and in those who have not … We realized that there was a deep desire to build the days of United World Week as a local community, involving all branches of the Opera, but also expanding the relationship with other movements, associations, churches and religions… ongoing research during the preparation in order to promote an open dialogue and unity.

The love became creative and showed its facets in the various actions that have been in the United World Week: blood donation, politics forum, distribution of soup to the homeless, training meetings, nature trails, social networks campaigns, collecting signatures for our projects, dialogue with other religions and many other activities that made us see the true “path of peace” that the Youth for a United World in Brazil want to follow.

We forward some photos and impressions:

“An extraordinary event. We know that the world is not easy, because unfortunately we take so many things as a negative, but we can not lose hope, even though there are all these bad things, we can not give peace. “Ângela andrare – Macapá / AP
“Today we had a unique experience visiting the House of Councilors of Castanhal (…). They talked about their proposals and, before thanking us, they made a comment about what is happening in the politics in Brasilia. We are connected to a political reality that is present in our daily lives. With this experience, we let ourselves go (even though we were a bit scared) to jointly build the world together in different places, who knows maybe we will be a politician. “Adria Lima and Mateus Cabral – Castanhal / PA

“Although it was not my first United World Week, I can say that was the most special to me(…). Until then I had lived without giving the other my all, “thinking small.” I felt good in doing good, helping in the actions, to be surrounded by that atmosphere of love, but I wasn’t taking attention to the greatness that was beyond time and people who were there. This year I was touched not only from the local communion, but global. I was the protagonist, and although I gave my best, I did a little(…). Together we are strong. Another interesting point was to examine how God never outdone in generosity. We imagined and planned the wonderful things, and we thought it would happen in a way, instead He found a way to surprise us (…). “JPMU – Maceió / AL

“The weekend was wonderful, made me realize the true meaning of the Focolare Movement, and I felt too good, excellent welcome, something unique, I can not explain what I felt there! I hope to continue to participate and be involved in a better world. “Matheus Pinheiro – Fortaleza / CE

“Today we had the opportunity to go to Hisho Kossey Kai! We were about 50 people, including the youth from the Focolare Movement as the Buddhist religion. It ‘been a learning process from beginning to the end: for knowing the history of their religion, for the experiences that they practice on a daily basis, how they live fraternity in the religious sphere and in everyday life. also we, the youth of the Focolare Movement, have been able to share our experiences and motivations to build a united world! “JPMU – São Paulo / SP
