Sociedade Movimento dos Focolari
Sociedade Movimento dos “Focolari” – SMF, founded in 1972, is a non-profit association recognized as a federal public utility entity. Its mission is to work for the promotion and defense of the rights of children, adolescents and young people, especially those in situations of social vulnerability, in the family and community context. Currently, it develops socio-educational, recreational, sports, artistic and cultural activities for about 340 children and adolescents, direct assistance, such as crafts, computer science, guitar, choir, percussion, futsal, volleyball, table tennis, dance, theater, among others.
SMF also seeks to strengthen local communities, developing in its members the faculty of leadership and active participation in society, including claiming social rights through inclusive logic, which value the transforming potential of social actors. Another fundamental idea of the entity is the promotion of a culture of fraternity, which contributes to the realization of the “common good”, which has as its fundamental values love, solidarity, peace and mutual respect among men.
SMF has a working team of 19 people, in addition to volunteers and the support of specialists in various disciplines who help to qualify the programs of social intervention.
