Loppianolab 2019: Preserve, Enhace, and Innovate, Is it ‘time over’?
On 4 and 5 October 2019, “Loppianolab”, the Italian National Workshop for Economics, Culture, Communication, Training, and Innovation, will be held again in the international town of the Focolare Movement. On its tenth edition, it looks at the future of the Planet and humans.
“To preserve, enhance, and innovate” – these three key words are the root of the tenth edition of Loppianolab, the workshop for Italy that is scheduled again on October 4 and 5, 2019, with a new format and content and its immersive experiences, to explore our relationship with the Earth and with humans. At a time when humankind is exhausting the available terrestrial resources and corroding the future of our young people, Loppianolab looks at the Planet.
Through the usual workshop-based formula, Loppianolab will collect questions and problems and listen to the voice of experts and those who have been successful in innovating. It will propose paths of action, awareness, and good practices. It will deal with indigenous cultures. It will promote an individual and collective awareness that focuses on economy, labor, politics, the human being, and Creation.
“We are living a stage in the history of humanity in which it is clear that the time to solve the environmental problem has expired and it is urgent to act immediately,” says economist Luigino Bruni, one of the promoters of the event. “We must not forget, however, that the stewardship of Creation must go together with that of people. We cannot dissociate the care of the earth from the care of human beings. There is only one stewardship: stewardship of the poor and the earth. That is why we decided to symbolically begin Loppianolab 2019 on October 4, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.”
The event is part of the Italian journey towards “The Economy of Francesco”, the great meeting of young entrepreneurs and economists with Pope Francis that will take place in Assisi from 26 to 28 March 2020, with the aim to change the current economy and to give a soul to the economy of tomorrow.
Loppianolab 2019 is promoted by Loppiano (Florence, Italy), the International town of the Focolare, and by Polo Lionello Bonfanti, – the first European Entrepreneurial Center and point of convergence for the more than 200 Italian companies participating in the project of Economy of Communion, in collaboration with Gruppo Editoriale Città Nuova, and Sophia University Institute.
The 2019 edition of the Workshop for Italy is an intercultural and intergenerational experience for all that is intended to involve over 9 years old citizens, workers, students, professionals, entrepreneurs, politicians, and volunteers, with young people in the front line, as active protagonists of change.
