United World Week 2026 Is Here: the World Mobilizes for a More Just and United Society
United World Week 2026

Every year, from May 1st to 7th, the United World Project support, together with the Focolare Movement and Youth for a United World (Y4UW), the United World Week, a global action where many people promote events and initiatives worldwide to foster dialogue, unity, and peace.

Across continents, committed individuals, organizations, and institutions come together to experience and witness that a united world is possible, and to inspire others to do so.

#ChooseToDialogue: the theme of United World Week 2026

This year’s theme, #ChooseToDialogue, invites us to rediscover dialogue as a concrete path to peace: a daily choice expressed through listening, collaboration, and shared commitment within our communities. Throughout the week, we encourage the organization of local initiatives that help turn this call to dialogue into concrete actions in our cities and communities.

In a special way, each day of the week will be an opportunity to deepen and live out a different aspect of our personal and collective lives, inspired by the various areas of the United World Communities.

A daily journey that invites us to choose dialogue in all its dimensions, making it visible through simple yet meaningful actions:

  • May 1 – Interculture & Dialogue
  • May 2 – Art & Social Commitment
  • May 3 – Health, Sport & Ecology
  • May 4 – Economy & Work + Education & Research
  • May 5 – Media & Communication
  • May 6 – Active Citizenship & Politics
  • May 7 – Peace & Human Rights

Tools and proposals to bring the week to life in every community

You can find more about the theme on the website. To support this journey, we have prepared several tools and proposals that can help bring the week to life in different local contexts:

Time-out: At a time when everything seems to be falling apart, we feel even more strongly the responsibility to offer our contribution and our message of hope. For this reason, we invite you to live and intensify the Time-out during United World Week, as a concrete expression of a shared prayer that unites us and makes us builders of peace, together, in every part of the world.

Inspiration Box: A document full of ideas and suggestions to be carried out during the week, enabling everyone around the world to live this journey in harmony and with a shared spirit.

Peace got Talent, Living Peace: We invite everyone to follow the Living Peace International broadcast at 2:00 PM (GMT+1, Rome time) on Saturday via YouTube (@unitedworldproject and @livingpeaceinternational), and to be inspired by the talents and messages of unity and peace shared by young people from all over the world.

Run4Unity: The Run4Unity is a global relay for peace. At noon in each time zone, young people “pass the baton” to the next country, creating a worldwide wave of unity that circles the globe. Many countries are already setting up their stages to be part of this global race, such us Brazil, Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina, Uganda, Burundi, New Caledonia, Italy and Croatia, among others.

Global calendar: We invite you to register your event on the website, becoming part of the global calendar and map of United World Week, and contributing to telling the many stories of fraternity that have arisen and will arise around the world.

Upload photos e videos: Please share your materials in the dedicated folder to help us tell and spread these initiatives of fraternity worldwide!

Passaparola ans Podcasts: Dedicated materials will be prepared and shared on our social media channels. The Passaparola is a daily motto or ‘keyword’ that serves to turn shared values into concrete actions.
