Goccia dopo goccia
The Association Goccia dopo Goccia (Drop by Drop) was born from the idea of some people animated by the spirit of unity and universal brotherhood of the whole human race, without distinction of race, religion or skin colour. Having got to know the reality of Karen refugees fleeing Myanmar, they began to take responsibility for their suffering by sponsoring children from this population, which has no territory or nation of its own. A group of children, parents and teachers from Latina (Italy), who knew about the project, took the same project to heart and a sort of twinning began between the Istituto Comprensivo Giuliano school and the nascent “Goccia dopo Goccia” school in Mae Sot, named for the increasingly concrete connection and support through the school’s project: “Goccia dopo Goccia, l’Amore supera ogni confine” (“Drop by Drop, Love Overcomes All Borders”).
The children of Mae Sot and their families are just some of the beneficiaries of this project, which aims to be open to any place where there are children in difficulty and who are waiting for nothing more than a little love, sharing and concrete help. Currently, their help, as the Drop by Drop Association, reaches not only Mae Sot, north-west Thailand, but also Chiang Rai, north Thailand, Laos and Vientam: in all, about 12 diversified and varied projects, ranging from school support to the construction of small bridges and concrete footbridges, water wells, and the distribution of food and medicine to families in serious difficulty.
